She is very prideful about her time working non-profit sector managing educational and leadership programs for at risk youth ages 10-19. As she worked with families in several neighborhoods gaining their trust and reliability, she was always one at their disposal when they needed someone. She provided youth with all needed skills/information to spearhead their path to college (5 years over 100 youth attended college under her guidance). She stressed instilling the importance of civic engagement in today’s youth with hope that they will become cultivating young adults in the future.

Working in several facets to advocate and or assist children, youth & families in the inner city (on a number of issues). Her willingness to help others and past work experience are just a couple of reasons for why Mrs. Gordon is currently a consultant. With the DCS, she will be able to build on to the already successful frameworks, partnerships and efforts given to the communities and companies we serve.

Shamekia currently resides in Bronx, NY with her husband Hylton, son Hylton Jr and their dog Sandy.
