Born and raised in Bronx, NY, Deneisha Thompson is the founder and CEO of Rent-N-Expert LLC, a small consulting firm that takes on projects that aim to impact the greater good. Deneisha began her career working in the area of Adult Education at Hofstra University. She then transitioned into the non-profit world taking on a variety of direct service and management roles working with very challenging populations such as mentally ill substance abusers, chronically homeless individuals and families, and people with special medical concerns such as HIV/AIDS. She has been the MICA Coordinator and Director of Social Services at The Living Room, a homeless drop-in center in the Bronx, the Director of an Intensive Case Management Program for people living with HIV as well as the the Director of two Supportive Housing Residences for people with special needs. Deneisha has also provided psychotherapy to mentally ill adults who have co-occurring disorders and trauma histories. More recently, Deneisha has been providing professional development and consulting services to a non-profits in New York City. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Metropolitan College of NY.
Deneisha has a Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Psychology and Political Science from Hofstra University. She also has two Master’s Degrees, one in Forensic Psychology and the other in Social Work with a concentration in Organizational Management and Leadership. Deneisha is an experienced leader in the areas of management, partnership development, adult learning, crisis intervention and change management through Collective Impact. She is passionate about social justice with a specific interest in issues related to race, equity and economics.
In the rare occasion that she has down time, Deneisha enjoys volunteering at a variety of programs in NYC, reading everything and making meals for her loved ones. She lives in Harlem with her partner & their mini poodle.
